Make the RSVP instruction complete
Print the response deadline and a short explanation next to the code. A line such as “Please RSVP by [your date]” tells guests what to do without requiring a scan to discover the deadline. Include a readable website address or another response method for guests who prefer not to scan. Keep the QR area separate from busy floral patterns, foil details, and folds.
Check how guests are identified
Your RSVP service may use a guest name lookup, a shared page password, or individual invitations. Test the exact flow your guests will use. A shared printed QR code should open the appropriate guest-facing page; it does not by itself identify a household or grant access to an organizer account. Do not use a private invitation token as a generic destination for every guest.
Keep the response page available
Save the destination address before approving a large print order. The image cannot be updated after download, although you can maintain a page at the same address on your own site. Dotlane does not host wedding websites, manage guest lists, collect dietary responses, or send reminders. Read the static QR guide to plan changes, and the print guide to test the finished invitation.
A quick check for this use case.
- The guest-facing RSVP page is the encoded destination.
- The invitation includes a clear response deadline.
- Any guest lookup or page password has been tested.
- A printed sample scans through the final paper and finish.
