QR content
QR payloads, network passwords, contact details, and color choices are processed locally in your browser. The generator does not upload this content or send it to a QR API. When you choose Generate QR code, it temporarily saves your latest details in sessionStorage for this browser tab. This lets the result page survive a refresh and restores your details when you return to edit. The draft expires after two hours, is replaced by your next submission, and can be removed using Clear my details now. Closing the tab normally ends this browser session; browser session-restore features may retain it, so use the clear button on shared devices.
Logo images
Selected logos are opened and resized locally. A normalized PNG copy is kept with the latest submitted draft in this tab for up to two hours. It is not uploaded or stored on our servers. Downloaded PNG and SVG files embed the logo. Use Clear my details now on the result page to remove the saved draft and logo.
Downloaded codes
A QR image contains the information you enter. Anyone with the image may be able to read it. A Wi-Fi code includes network credentials; a contact code includes the contact details you selected.
Clipboard and files
Copying content and downloading images happen only when you choose the relevant button. Your browser and operating system manage the clipboard and downloaded files.
Hosting
The hosting provider may process request information such as IP addresses and browser headers to deliver and secure this public site. No account is required to use the generator.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and site usage. Google may process page URLs, referring websites, browser and device information, and analytics cookies. We do not add QR payloads, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details, or uploaded logos to analytics events. QR generation remains local to your browser. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Advertising
Advertisements are served through Google Ad Manager using Google Publisher Tag. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address, browser and device information, page visits, cookies, and similar identifiers to deliver and measure ads. We do not add QR payloads, Wi-Fi credentials, contact details, or uploaded logos to ad requests or targeting. Advertising does not change the information encoded in your QR code. Learn more about Google and its partners and Google ad preferences.
Destination websites
When someone scans a website QR code, they visit its encoded address. That destination and the scanner app have their own privacy practices. Dotlane does not add scan analytics.
