Give people a reason to open the profile
“Scan to see our latest work” explains more than an unexplained logo and QR square. Pair the code with your readable handle, a recognizable name, and the kind of content visitors should expect. A code can make a profile easier to find, but it does not automatically follow an account, like a post, or subscribe a visitor.
Account for sign-in and app behavior
The destination platform controls whether visitors can view a profile while signed out and whether a web link opens an installed app. Dotlane cannot bypass sign-in, age restrictions, regional availability, or account privacy settings. Test the public web address on more than the device you normally use. Avoid promising that every scan will open a particular app screen.
Keep printed materials useful when your handle changes
A direct profile QR code contains that exact address. If you change the handle or move to another service, the old URL may no longer lead to the intended page. A stable page on your own site can give you more control over outgoing links. Learn what can change in a static QR code, and use the logo guide if you want a compact brand mark inside the image.
A quick check for this use case.
- The profile belongs to the intended account.
- A signed-out visitor can reach the expected page.
- The printed handle matches the linked address.
- The invitation does not promise an automatic follow.
