Ask for one clear action
“Tell us about your visit” sets a more useful expectation than a bare “Scan me.” Keep the request close to the experience you want feedback on: a recent delivery, a workshop, or a café visit. Explain whether the destination is a short survey or an open comment form. Do not promise a completion time unless it matches the actual form.
Check access and the confirmation screen
A form that works in its creator’s browser may not work for a customer. Test the respondent-facing page without your staff session, check every required field, and read the confirmation message after submission. The form provider controls response collection, storage, and any privacy notices. Dotlane does not receive answers, host your survey, or provide survey reports.
Choose a form or an email draft
A form is useful when you want consistent questions. An email QR code is an alternative when opening a draft to your support address is enough; scanning does not send the message automatically, and the customer needs a compatible email app. If the feedback destination changes, update a stable landing page you control or generate a new code. See the static QR explanation before printing permanent signs.
A quick check for this use case.
- The QR points to a respondent link, not an edit link.
- The form works without the staff account.
- A test response reaches the intended inbox or dashboard.
- The invitation matches the questions being asked.
